Mystery object: This is a simple sensory activity to try if you wish!
You can adapt the ‘everyday’ mindful practice depending on your needs, wishes and feelings. If you gather different objects in a cloth bag, close your eyes and be reassured that there’s no harmful objects in the bag. You can then place your hand or ask the person you are supporting to place their hand in the bag. You may choose to close your eyes or keep your eyes open (whatever feels OK for you)- try to avoid looking directly in the bag-if you can!
Explore the touch and the sensations you feel when exploring the objects in the bag. This will help you explore objects in a sensory way- explore what you feel and the different textures of the objects by touching the objects and what you also may hear when you touch the objects.
Top tip:
What do you feel when you touch the object? What is the image that’s created in your ‘mind’s eye’?
